I’ve been having more and more opportunities lately to hop in a car and zip out of the city. While enjoying what seems to be the luxury every suburbanite covets, I’ve definitely noticed over the past 5 years that not having a car has effected my [once] keen driving skills. Now, every time I get behind the wheel, I find myself having to quickly shift into an alertness gear that I don’t need riding city transportation. It’s a humble reminder not to forget how dangerous the highway can be. These speedometer signs from Milwaukee-based Cramer-Krasselt are another good reminder. They’re also an innovative use of a municipal mechanism that we’ve all seen, and most likely ignored.
Jason is a simple dude with a simple idea: wear a different brand’s t-shirt everyday for a year, sell each day’s spot at ‘face value’ (January 1 is $1 and December 31 is $365), and use social media channels to gain recognition. Mojave Interactive bought today’s spot (for $217), and instead of just sending a generic logo tee, we used our opportunity to do some SM analytics on Jason’s brand, www.iwearyourshirt.com.
Lancaster, PA is famous for it’s rolling green hills, picturesque Amish farms, and hard-working locals. Beyond the cities’ veneer is a group of young, progressive, professionals who are embracing Lancaster’s history while making their own mark. The boys at The Infantree, as well as some others, are making the effort to highlight their cities’ music/art/culture through a collaborative site wearelancaster.com. As part of the launch, they created (by hand, of course) this beautiful silk-screened zine that was dropped around Lancaster hotspots.
